  • Raptor 50 tail set-up

    Hi to all,

I need some help on my Raptor Tail set-up. When the main blades are rotated which way should the tail rotate when viewed from the right hand side of the heli? clockwise or anti-clockwise.

Also which way should the tail servo operate when moved to the right? Should the pitch slider move towards the tail boom or away from it?

Many thanks to those who reply.

The tail rotor should rotate anticlockwise when viewed from the right hand side of the heli if your main blades rotate clockwise.

    Tail Servo
Looking from behind apply left stick and the pitch slider moves right away from the boom.

    Gyro
View from the left side, Push the tail away from you pitch slider moves toward you.

If you look at the tail rota from the right hand side of the heli it should turn anti clockwise - from the back the top blade will come towards you.

Set the gyro up so that when you move the tail to the left the leading edge of the tail blade will point right to correct. Set the rudder up so left on the stick will pull the tail right - leading edge will point right.

Just take it easy when you spool up for the first time - better still get a second opinion before you do.

          another way of putting it...

front tail blade moves up into the main rotorwash

Right nose = pitch slider into the gearbox.

No one else has mention this, so I will, as it's very dear to my heart

Get yourself the upgrade, single piece, steel, tail rotor hub (I think the number PV0499). It'll save your machine from having hub failures with the standard alluminium version.
