Depends on Heli and servos but bigger is always better.

      I'm building a Sceadu Evo 50 (very slowly !) and I went for a
      GP3300 4.8v ni-mh sub c pack (see link below).

      http://www.overlander.co.uk/results.asp?categoryid=52

The documentation for my Futaba 9254 servo states ni-cd use only (didn't notice this till later). I'm not sure if this is an issue or not but I'm curious to know why they state this.

The thing is Ni-mh batterys will just drop power unlike ni-cads which
will give power constant right to the end.

Battery checkers are no good with NiMh as they can lie.

I use a 2400 and a 2000 NiCad in a 90 and 50 both with digital servos, get 4 flights before the lights drop on the Quick battery monitor.

            Hi
thats right the Ni-Cad will warn you if fitted with a battery checker

Ni-Mh is a diffrent beast... your battery checker will say okay be
            flying around and then nothing.......
