  • help needed in the Pontefract area please

Hi help needed in the Pontefract area please, I’m new to RC Heli, my wife got me a blade 400 for Christmas, I’v got a 3-channel toy heli (Bladez 3d) from Meadowhall for indoors and I thought I could fly. Any way this is the result 4 sets of main blades, 2 sets of blade grips, 3 feathering shafts, 1 main shaft, 1 under carriage, 1 tail fin, and a cracked canopy, and that’s with training gear on, not bad in a week and half! I have now set my DX6i to Boggy’s beginner’s settings and now it’s a lot tamer thanks Boggy. Anyway back to the point is there any body in my area (I live in South Elmsall) that can show me the basic’s before I go bankrupt and put a million miles on my car running to and from Fast-Lad’s in Barnsley, what a shop for big kids, my computer is a imac G5 with no Intel so cant find a sim to run on it.
    Cheers Chris

...a cracked canopy and a partridge in a pear treeeeeeee.

Stick with it, you'll get there. I had the same problem when I started out as I too was on my own. Take things in small steps and not too far off the ground. The higher it falls the more it costs. Once you get a few hours hovering practice in it will all come together and start to cost less. I would sell the imac and buy a real computer though

    Good luck.

IMO you really need to get a sim working on a computer to raise your game.

You are going to wear your tyres out travelling back and forth from Fastlads that's for sure.

Spend many hours on the sim and like you have read many on here you will get there but without a sim it will get very costly believe me.

As for a club you are very lucky, Pontefract Panda's are very local to you and one of the senior members is a member on here, username Ponteflyer.

Get in touch with him, That's the way forward.
