  • Heli sizes?

Ok, totally stupid newbie question. Could someone tell me, or point me at a thread, what defines a 450, 500, 700, etc.

    Thanks

Motor size I think. Raptor 30 = 30 size engine, Raptor 50 = 50 size engine. In leccies it's the motor size.

thats correct when it comes to raptors
          But...
a trex 600 isn't called a trex 50 (so i assume they are going by blade size) because if you get a 600e its the same size as a 600 nitro yet they still call it a 600
          a 700 aint called a 90 (same assumption again)

who knows what aligns logic in the numbering is, lets just say the bigger the number the bigger the heli

              Yes, that's it.

....but 550 is about Rotor size

It looks like another case of unit standardisation

Don't forget the 16 tooth pinion, then we'll see some serious headspeed!
