  • Hi all

I was given one of those six inch long foam Apache jobs recently and rubbish as it was, it really got me wanting something I could actually control. After a bit of lurking on here I went and bought myself a CX2 on Thursday (a birthday pressie from the wife).

First battery was pretty much used just trimming up properly, but second flight pleasingly resulted in a sketchy hover. I've been through five more charges since and can now tidily fly tail in around a 6'x4' mat. I haven't had anything more than a hard landing yet, so I'm feelling pretty pleased with myself, but I do realise it's only a matter of time.....

This rc flying lark is absolutely brilliant and I can see myself spending much time and (probably even more) money on it, flight sim ahoy!

    Welcome Mos.

You have to try it to realise how great it is.

Your going to love it/ and sometimes hate it, but the bug will get you.

Heliaddicts is a great source of info, everyone will want to help you.

    Enjoy every minute of it.

If you have any questions, just ask, even if you think it's a daft question, don't worry...Just ask.
We all started where you are now.
Youll get all the help you need on here.

You might need to to start a heli savings fund though

    It might become very addictive.

Nice one and welcome to the forum!

The CX2 is a great starter and it sounds as if you're making great progress... The sim is definitely a good idea - Phoenix is usually recommended here (and it will work with your CX2 transmitter).

Beware though, once addicted it does cost money!!!!

Any questions, ask away, there's loads of people here that have trodden the same path

        All the best

Funny, thats where I started back in March.
In that time I have been through
            Buzzflyer
            CX2
            2 X trex 450
            BEAM 450
            Trex 500
            2 X trex 600 NSP
            Trex 700
Oh and a 250 on the way from Santa!
Its been massively expensive BUT absolutely great fun.
            Enjoy.

              howzit

also just joined today and glad i found this valuable resource
              ; )

just starting out this hobby, been into rc for some years now flying planes but always yearned to get into helis, must say its much harder than i expected and very addictive

i have a blade 400 standard package and have spent some 3 or 4 hours flying and still only able to hover and move around slowly, but much more confident than when i was just hopping around trying to stay calm and not hit anything

at the moment im happy with what i have and would rather learn to fly first before i do anything to the heli mod wise however much i may be tempted ; )

Wise decision as your bound to put it in anyway.
You could always start upgrading when you have to.
