  • Some light at the end of the tunnel, yipee!

Well it's taken a while but I'm slowly starting to make progress, I haven't touched my Blade CX2 or 400-3D in weeks as I've been 'buddying up' with one of the instructors at our local club on my 600 Sport.
With his patience and occassional rescue's I've reduced my hovering from taking up a large part of the nearby field, down through a football pitch sized area and now a basketball court.
On top of this the other day he got me taking off on my own, which doesn't sound much of an achievement but it ended in tears several times with my 400 as I panicked when it started to go anywhere other than up.
Sadly I won't be able to fly again for a week or more so it's back to Phoenix during this time, just hope I haven't forgotten what to do when I get back on a real one!

Yes, it's a good feeling I've only recently got past the constant panic to be able to hover for a while. I don't know if it happens to everybody but I do seem to take a minute or two to get back to where I was at the end of the last flying day. I now start carefully until I get the feel of it. It's a very strange feeling with a heli, when you can tell it where to go rather than it deciding where it's going to go.
