  • CO-COMANCHE or APACHE FERALBEAST

    Hi all,

I am thinking of buying my first 4 channel helicopter.

    I have done a bit of research and have basically wittled it down to 2, but I cannot decide which one to go for. They are around the same price, and both have the same sort of reviews. They are;

The ESKY CO-COMANCHE or the APACHE FERALBEAST.

Just want to know if anybody has had any expireience with both of these helicopters. I have also seen the E Flite Blade CX2 which has had good reviews, but does seem a bit more expensive then the other 2.

    cheers in advance

    Try a blade MCX.
With the Esky stuff you tend to get alot of tail drifting. Its normal for a co-axial as the voltage gets lower the tail drift creeps in. Its worse on the Esky helis thats all. The blade CX2 holds it much better although a little more expensive. The blade MCX is even better again, almost locked in tail.

    cheers

thanks for the response and the info, I can see you already own a MCX, and i have just had a look into what they are all about, and the first thing is I noticed it was a micro. I am looking for more of a 'manly' rc heli, but cheers for the heads up on the other helicopters.

I'm assuming though the CX2 is the best, going on the price, and what you have said about the MCX.

      cheers

Lee gave some some good advise there and the MCX is a great start when learning to fly.

The CX2 is also a learner heli and no different to fly IMO but costs more because you get a 2.4gHz TX with it as with the MCX if you need it.

Buy yourself a copy of Phoenix Sim and learn how to fly the "Manly" helicopters, It will be a shortcut to reaching those heights quicker and much cheaper in the long run..

I wouldnt cal a blade CX2 'manly' but hey i suppose thats a beginners conception. You wont go wrong with the CX or MCX mate. The MCX is easier to fly but has better technology in the heli electronics itself. With the Esky as Tim already pretty much pointed out it is 35Meg. The blade CX2 and MCX are both 2.4Ghz technology. This will result in glitch free flight. Either of the Blades plus Phoenix is pretty much accepted as one of the best options into the hobby for starting.

Just NOT the Feralbeast, spares seem to be awfully hard to come by.

sorry, what i meant when i said 'manly' helicopters, I only meant it on a size basis, not in terms of difficulty to fly.

some may say size doesn't matter, but to me size is every think, the bigger the better

Hey Dean, Its a common fact, The bigger the heli, The easier it is to fly.

Its just the crash costs that are heavier.

Yip, spares you definately want to look at too... pointless purchasing a heli if spares are hard to come by.

Ok, so i have decided to scrape the apache, and i have gone for the CO-COMANCHE. My misses said I should wait till after xmas, but i saw one pop up on ebay, which came with a spare comache body and a spare daupin body+ all the original bits and peices and original box. The guy said he only flew it a few times and it was mint, so i didn't want the man with the bargains to pass me buy.

Anyway, while i was on ebay, i noticed a seller in HK selling 5 LED light kit for the comanches, i was just wondering does anybody know where else you could buy light kits from? I think it would look cool with a white spotlight and flashing beacons etc on it. Are they easy to fit? as i have not recieved my heli just yet, I didn't know wheather or not there were spare sockets for things like this to plug into.

                    Cheers

P.S Oh, and I think I would like a CX2, but I will wait after xmas for that as I want to buy that brand new. (by the way the misses doesn't know about my recent purchase, as i was on strict orders not to buy anything like a helicopter BEFORE xmas, I'm still thinking of an excuse for when she catches me playing with it. (the helicopter that is))

is there any other difference between a Co-comanche and a douphin, apart from the body?
