  • Li-po C rating

Can anyone explain the c rating on a li-po and how a 10c battery will differ in performance from a 18-20c battery.I am running a brushed motor at the moment but will look to move to brushless in the future will this affect what c rating i will require .

    Simplest explanation:

    A 10C constant 1000mAh battery can supply 10Amps
    A 20C constant 1000mAh battery can supply 20Amps

It's advised generally not to exceed 80% of capacity so both these figures need multiplying by that which gives

    8Amps
    16Amps

And beware the "cheaper" suppliers of Lipo's overstating their "C" ratings to make their batteries look more attractive
