I started with a BCX2 last year, and had great fun, still do, but I've only been into this on a serious level since the end of March this year.
I know fly a highly upgraded 450XL, I started with soft control surfaces now I fly her like a nutter, and after lots of practice can do some interesting stuff.
I also fly a Trex 500, which is a real serious piece of kit with the best of everything on it, she gets a workout though not like my 450.
The last few days the weather has been pants, cold and windy so my Rex birds sit safely in there area in our livingroom, so my indoors machines have been flown for the last few days, and you know what I've had a ball.
It was great flying my Contra again, and from a stand point to say this machine is easier to fly then a piece of cake for me is an understatement.
This isn't a big headed comment, my point being even a slightly seasoned pilot who flys complected machines which requires a great commitment in time & money, can go back to the Contra machines and still have a load of fun.
My other point being don't be in to much of a rush thinking you wanna go straight in for the big machines, as flying is fun period regardless what you have or start with.
For a beginner you need it as easy as poss' as you'll still have the odd dong dong here and there, plus the ole heart beat will be pumping like crazy, but thats a good thing.
So please bear this in mind, flying is fun period! And regardless of talent and experience level it's just a rush, so don't be to impatient, take note of what we say, and the fact we try and steer you on the Contras isn't because CCPM's are an elitist group, only we want you to have the max fun with your first machine as that'll be the backbone if you take it further on if you want to, which most do.
Heliaddics is an apt name for the forum, as you don't join it you wear it, and it becomes a vital part of your hobby which is down to the people within it.
May be when a newbie joins this thread could be pasted as for me it describes my transition perfectly, and Heli flying is a blast no matter what you have.
Just my pennies worth.
