  • Radio & Simulator for Macintosh

Does anyone know if there is a Radio that will work with a Macintosh Computer? Looking for a first radio/TX.

There are no current simulators that run on a Mac.

I've got an Intel Mac just so I can run Windoze for a simulator, and a couple of other things such as AutoCad...

Do you mean you want to run a Sim on OSX

      Then your out of luck.

Not one Sim maker see's the Mac as worth making a sim for the intel macs

You will need Bootcamp and Phoenix sim

Phoenix will use most of todays transmitters

Ok thanks both - so what's a good first radio. I might start with a MCX Heli and maybe work my way up the food chain. Ted

Ted, that'd be a cracking starter heli! The joy of it is it'll work on any JR / Spektrum DSM2 transmitter so if you're feeling flush get the 'bind and fly' version of the MCX and something like a Spektrum DX7. You're not likely to need to buy another tranny unless you get very serious and start needing more than 7 channels.

Now, before anyone gets excited, I don't work for them...
But, Midland Helicopters has got a 2nd Hand DX7 for about £90 - add £53.99 for a bind and fly MCX from BRC Hobbies and you could have a cracking wee setup for not a lot of money... (£143.99 + postage) that's about 20 / 30 quid more than a cx2...
