  • WALKERA 36 HELP

Please excuse the capitals for this forum post , I thought i would try to make a dedicated thread that dealt only with the tuning and repair of the walkera #36
this a link to help with the tuning of the 36 it is a great help

    [url]http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3480219/tm.htm#36

parts can bought cheaply and reliably here

    http://www.heli-shop.co.uk/index.php...86202520<br />http://www.blinktrading.co.uk/osc/index.php

as i move on i will try to post links and such as to the upkeep and repair and just general tuning of the 36 . If anyone would like to contribute please do so.

as a side note i am looking for an airwolf fuselage and a retractable landing gear (together/seperate makes no difference) centuryuk were useless and offered no help JMD models refunded my money (paypal forced no contact for 2 months) the ones i have seen are around 80-120 dollars for both please post any links

You used to be able to get the JMD airwolf at midland helis but to be honest I wouldnt bother, I had one, became known as airbrick, even with a brushless and 3 liths on a CP Pic Pro the performace was laclustre and duration was dire, and this was before paint and retracts!

The Ikarus Foam Airwolf fuse is the better looking and lighter of the two, but being foam it won't stand up to much abuse and needs a fair amount of work to get a good finish on the paint. There are some excellent examples of this fuse floating around (no pun intended) Weikinger from the Old Ikarus forum had probably the best looking example i have seen.

The century airwolf doesnt look half as good as the Ikarus one but it is probably cheaper and easier to get hold of, give skyline models a cal and see if they can help.

For retracts there is a good description on how to fit some on heli hobbies website, JUST DONT PURCHASE STUFF FROM THEM!

Heres a link to Simon Weikingers Airwolf

        http://weikinger.web1000.com/Airwolf_Slideshow.html

This really is the best example I have seen, lots of added detail like all the rivets etc. A true micro scale heli.

Problem on the Walkera sounds like the swashplate isnt sat level or the balance is off on the heli.

retracts, what ever you do, dont use the century ones as used by the hawk/airwolf

unless you want a challange or your a masochist.

Yeah that is a nice airwolf but its not a micro kit, I am pretty sure the Ikarus Foam body comes with retracts, if not there is a thread or webpage somewhere detailing how to make your own.

Be pre warned flying micro helis is extremely difficult, DO NOT LEARN with the Fuselage you will end up trashing it. Learn to fly first, then stick on the scale body

I was right, the ikarus kit does come with the retracts ready to go, Lynkk has just built one up, heres a link to the thread

Hi Sao , yeah ive got no intention of flying it with body kit on but the urge is there lol having to strip heli down AGAIN at the moment fitted new main shaft and HM036-026 Unilateralism Bearing had a quick hover this morning everything fine went back to it took her up gently and she hit the ground for no reason dodgy cheapo shaft bent within seconds im gonna have to look for a toughened steel one no luck so far though, but hey lol at least im having fun

if u can please post a link for a toughened steel / titanium main shaft for the walkera 36 thanks
