I would look into buying the bits you need separately. I'm not sure of the quality of the starter in that package, maybe someone who has used one could comment.

Personally, I would look at the Sullivan starters - probably a Hi-Tork (black and yellow) for your needs.

Outside of that, you need a glow driver and a power source (12 volts) of some sort. Your car battery would do at a push...

Battery drill with reverse if you already have one.
Sawn off ball ended allen key to go in it.
Glow driver with charger - £10?
        No 12V needed.
        Fuel pump £10
        Spend the rest on fuel.

I'm not a beleiver is spending on field kit. If I wasn't flying on my own so much I'd be on the borrow for other folks starters...

I have the thunder tiger carry master which i got with my raptor 30...they are ok for a 30 size motor but struggle a bit with a 50..so since upgrading to a 50 v2 I have done as moyesboy has...reversable cordless drill.

You dont have to pay big bucks for your starting equipment if you are willing to keep an eye on ebay etc. I picked up my starter (Sullivan Hi-torq) for 20 quid!

I'm very popular at our field because I have the Sullivan Hi Torque starter.

Its still turning them when the others have given up.

I bit like the duracel bettery advert.

                    Yeah.

I know a bloke that turned up at my place to fly and his Hi Torque looked liked it was 20 years old and well battered.

                    Still did the job though.

If going the cordless drill route, make sure it spins fast enough. I've not used one myself, but seeing others use them, sometimes they struggle to start the engine due to it not spinning fast enough.

I'm not sure what speed "fast enough" is, which isn't much use to you I realise, but I thought it worth pointing out. Perhaps those that do use this method can tell us what speed their drill spins at

                            Cheers,

My drill was fine until the moor got a bit worn. A new motor with good compression doesn't need to spin fast.
also cloing off the exhaust for a few tunrs can get it going a bit better if is slow.

Remember not that long ago all this type of motor were started by flicking the prop with a rubber protected finger...
