Still struggling to get my sc32h engine running , if anyone out there has one of these engines , can they please tell me what settings they are using? ie , low and high end needle, or where i can download a manual?

also does the length of the fuel pipe make a difference?

    thanks

    Hi Dave

I have an SC60 marine engine plus instructions.

They may be generic so I'll have a look at them tonight. I think the low end should be factory set but I'll check tonight.

If you want any other info, give us a shout.

    Cheers

thanks, yes your right , bottom end should be factory set, they previous owner had messed with them, i now have the engine running although roughly, had to set low end to 3.5 turns out and high end to 2.5 turns

I had exactly the same problem, and like you I did get it running in a fashion but then the next day it just wouldnt start again, I ended up taking good advice and replacing it with an OS-37.

          Hi Dave

As I thought, the instructions cover all the SC engines.

This is the extract regarding the needle setup......

"Both needles will lean the motor if screwed clockwise and will richen the mixture if unscrewed. Once started, open the carburettor barrel fully and adjust the main needle working from behind the engine until it will hold a reliable maximum RPM.
To obtain the correct settings, adjustment of the needles should be made carefully and in small increments.
Idle needle can only be set after the main needle has been correctly adjusted. If engine coughs and splutters when opening the carburetor barrel, it is too rich and the idle needle should be screwed in slightly. Reduce carburettor barrel to idle, wait 10 seconds then open again. Correct settings will obtain regular idle rpm's and reliable carburettor throttle opening with a slightly rich midrange change over between needle settings. Conversely, if the engine dies when opening throttle, the idle setting is too lean and the needle should be screwed out slightly. Most engines need to use several tanks of fuel before a reliable low idle can be set."

          Hope this helps.

          Cheers
