another dragonfly newbie

hello everyone,
i just bought a dragonfly 36 off ebay, eventually it arrived from china and it looks fantastic but all the instruction are poorly translated, so i had nothing to go by and i thought i'll have a go anyway, how hard could it be! very hard.
i've now repaired it and want to try again but i don't know if the all the settings are set correctly as i've had a fiddle. so as a begineer what should all the switches be set to on the back of the controller? they were all set to off except for 5 which was set to acro rather than heli which i thought was strange and 8 was set to lock.
also whats the deal with the gear switch on the top left of the controller? and 1 last question should i have the switch on the gyro set to avcs or nor?

i'm a complete novice to this so any help or tips would really help me out or its gonna cost me a small fortune otherwise!!!

hello all switches should be set to the left except for switch 8 , this switch is for adjustment of the pitch servo . the gear switch is for landing gear iservo (or anythin other that requires a basic on off switch ) the gyro i dont know m8 sorry im a newbie myself
