  • CP to FP?

I bought a CP Pro and a 400 3D. should I have gotten a fixed Pitch before going to a CP? and if so, can you convert a CP to a FP, fo the time being. you can respond in Engish or american(little humor there!!)hahaha

not sure if thats possible, don't think anyones botherd trying.

maybe just put the 400 to one side for now and buy a blade cx2. once mastered move onto the B400 ?

think you;ll find the conversion is more hassle than its worth! lol

Surely if you want a FP heli, then just make the pitch curve the same value all the way along, so it will stay at you chosen pitch regardless of throttle position?

I do have a CX2 also, sorry should have mentioned that. It isn't very challenging to me. My G3.5 however, geeeez. Some days you can hover with absolutely no problem, other days, I couldn't hover if there were hanging on a string. Also the Sim doesn't seem very realistic for take off and ground effect...any suggestions?

            Oli,
That makes sense. I'm only questioning all of this because I read fixed pitch was the next step. Apparently my LHS felt differently.

In my opinion i would get on the sim, practice with your cx2 then go for it with the CP 400, I dont think it would make it any easyer to fly converting it to FP (i may be wrong), Just get someone to set it up to be nice and gentle for you.

if you have truly mastered the cx2( can you hover it in any orientation without thinking !! fly it to its limit without getting a blade strike??) if so the blade400 is ideal for your next step read up as much as you can in the 400 forum ... ask questions... practice on the sim realistic or not it helps!! and most of all persevere it will pi$$ you off at times , crashes can demoralise you .. but dont give up learn from every experience this is a truly rewarding hobby wether your a good pilot or not

The Blade 400 is a BIG step up from the CX2. Take it very easy to start with and for me, the learning curve for CP helis was and continues to be steep!

                      Boggy,Oli, fatmantom,
I really appreciate your insight and words of wisdom. I'd rather get advice and learn. I've already been down the crash and burn learning. Hence, the Simulator and the CX2. Although, some days I can hover, nose in nose out, side facing without a thought, and others I couldn't hover if she were hanging on a string..HAHA!
                      Again,
                      thank you

Me too - now if I only knew WHICH days I couldn't do it before the crash, I'd be rich!!!
