Thanks for advice so far guys. There's certainly lots to think about.

Yea that'll be fine, it's just a Contra the likes of which Walkera badge, so spares won't be hard to come by.

        Hi

Im in a similar position, an absolute beginner and have not brought a heli yet, however I have purchsased the Futuba FF7 and the Phoenix simulator, which are superb. Although the simulator allows you to change the curves, etc, the FF7 being fully programmable allows you to do it via the TX, which i would suggest helps greatly in learning how to understand and operate the programming side of things. Also I purchased the RAYS Companion book which was around £30, i have to say, the book is absolutely superb and i fully recommend buying it. It is so informative and will answer so many questions. When I do come to buy my heli, i will know so much more about how it operates, linkages, etc, which should also give me more confidence with not only the building of the model, but understanding how it flies, etc. Best of luck

That Micro x is actually quite hard to fly unless you get it properly set up. I have one tyat i don't fly anymore, crashed it a while ago and found its not very robust either! Its not trashed, just the tail boom breaks easily. Also its 35 MHz, not 2.4 so will be subject to interference if you fly near other flyers.

James, please be aware the MicroX is the original plastic version of he popular Walkera 5G6 35MHz. Reason why it’s so cheap……………….it’s now been updated several times to 2.4Ghz

The newest version can be found at either
            http://www.chinesejade.com/walkera_Heli.htm
            or
            http://www.buzzflyer.co.uk/Sub-Micro-RC-Helicopters/Buzz-Fly-CX-2.4G/p-97-903/

Do a little more homework before you commit……….and don’t think the cheapest is always a deal!

Good luck and I started with a BuzzFlyer CX……………………………………….

TBH Contras are usually fairly delicate machines when it comes to blade busting & shaft bending.

The safest bet machines have already been mentioned being the Blade CX2 & MX2

Even the E-Sky Twister Hawks or Medivac Contras would be be a good buy, at the end of the day you can only advise what maybe the best route!
