  • Swashplate leveling Stupid question

    Morning

I have brought a swashplate leveling tool but it is huge compaired to the 450.

As I haven't got another tx I havent set it up properly yet but the only way I could get it to work is if I had removed all the head and links above the swashplate is this how everyone else does it?

    PS

I also ordered the wrong flybars they are 190mm not the longer ones I had before but this will just make it more responsive is that right?

The shorter flybar will make it less responsive. if the leveller is like the canomod ones i have then yes yet remove the head and washout and slide it down the main shaft to sit on the swash. It needs to be a snug fit on the main shaft to work though. It only takes 2 mins to remove the head assembly. Undo the jesus bolt, pop off the 4 links on the swash and pull the whole lot off in one complete piece.

As for the flybars I will see how she flys..

I have also just fitted a new main shaft and I havent put the head back on yet so I will leave it like that till I get the new TX.

I think the 6exh that broke was your old one Jamiem?

So it has done well as I must have had it for 18months ago when I brought your raptor not sure how old it was the?

          For now as money is tight I have brought a SH ff7 35mhz as I have a few 35mhz rx's and long term I would like a ff7 2.4.

The 6exh still works its just the right stick centering spring clip has broken. I must have thrown it in a box 1 too may times.

I was flying on pheonix at the time when it broke not that it is unflyable it just makes it a little tricky.

The Raptor has moved on now too but again great bird I regret selling it now but now I have an excuse to get a Trex 600 or Knight not sure what yet

I'm a bit old school in the area, I usually use line of sight, then do a few practice hovers until its spot on.

If your replacing a broken servo say, unscrew the whole servo horn so it hangs on the push rods, install the new servo, then power her up then attach the horn back in the neutral position so the Swash is level as before, nice and easy, but this only works when replacing like for like servos.
