I’m new to this sport and I am currently at research prior to buying stage. Having looked at this forum, it looks like there is plenty of friendly and encouraging support for a newbie so I thought I would ask for your thoughts on a couple of options I might have.
So far I’ve tried a co axial 4 ch with limited success, partly due to lack of indoor space to practice and not really having a clue as to what I was doing. Having read various posts, I bought a Phoenix Simulator and I am having great fun with that and I am now ready to take the next step.
My flying in the long term I think will lean more towards scale than aerobatic, probably sticking at 450 size for the foreseeable future.
My current thoughts are with 3 models. The Blade 400, the Twister Storm with 6Xdi, or the T rex 450S. The 450s is available ready to fly and test hovered at £399, or a carbon kit at £350 ish + charger. Given that this is new to me, I think £400 would be the limit of what I would be comfortable paying at the moment.
I am reasonable practical and could probably build the carbon kit, but I’m not too sure about the set up, is this something I could do using the forum resources or is it a step too far?
Any thoughts would be valued.
