  • Help ! Walkera Main Motor Burn-

    Hello All,

    I would really appreciate it if one of you could help me understand a situation with my Walkera 22e.This heli originally came with a LIPO,11.1 V , 800mAh, ( 10 C ,I guess !!). I flew this heli for some time, without big problems, Yes ! the main motor and Tail motors used to get really hot, but nothing serious even after 5 or 6 flights of beginner heli basic manouvers.This Heli comes with the following specs.

    ->Walkera 6 Channel Receiver.
    ->6CH Transmitter and Receiver included 4 IN 1 Electronic Board.
    ->Stock Motor 370 SD
    ->Tail Motor N30

    Recently I purchased a new LIPO , 11.1 V , 15 C , 1000 mAh.I noticed as ususal the Main and Tail motors got really hot even before a full minute into flying .Within minutes the Main Motor stopped working, I guess it burned out the coils.Im not sure .

    What should I do to prevent this from happening again, Im on my last spare Main Motor, I dont want to burn it up .

    Help ! Help ! Help !

    Try and get a diffrerent branded motor other then the walkera stock one, also Walkera arent all that great, they tend to have problems like this,
    "Anger and Frustration bring the best out of my flying ability.. because generally I don't give a shit either if the machine hit's the deck or stay's in the air - both will accomplish satisfaction, but most of all it exerts the feeling of flying conservatively. - Callum"

      The stock brushed motors do burn out pretty regularly, not much you can do to prevent it happening, just ensure that mechanics rotate freely with no tight spots, and that you're not overloading motor with too much pitch. There are heatsinks you can fit to both motors, but not sure how effective they are.
