  • FF9 Super and Reflex

New to helis I took all your advice and bought a Sim.

    Flying Sceadu. (on sim)

2 weeks later I'm still not sure if all is well. Only just realised throttle stick down should not make heli take off! Instructions do leave something to be desired. Have reversed throttle and pitch on "assign channels " and I think it is now right. Is it?

Beginners told to disable pitch, expo and tail rotor mixing. Please, please, pleeaase, how do I do this on the FF9 super? Detail if you have time, haven't a clue what I'm doing!

    What is expo mixing?

    Too many questions? Sorry!

Hi, your not on your own, i know lots of people having troubles like you.

    on the left stick..

    Stick forward = goes UP
Stick Left = NOSE of the model goes left

    On the right stick

Stick foward = nose goes down (model goes foward)
stick left = model rolls to the left.

I am not 100% sure but i think all the mixing is disabled on the FF9 super as standard.

Tail rotor mixing is also known as revolution (revo) mix. its used on the older non-heading hold gyros.

expo is exponential. On futaba radios a negative value will soften the reaction of the model with small stick movements without reducing the maximum travel of the control.

    where abouts are you?

      Thanks.

In Ireland, Co Louth. Spoken to 2 local clubs, no-one flying heli's. Nearest club over an hour away, not realistic.
Dont think mixing disabled, possibly aren't able to disable.
Have to find real live person as never seen a model fly!

it is worth travelling an hour to a friendly club. I used to do it and i know people that drive an hour or more to come to our club.

Later on, once you got the hang of it you can join a more local club for those quick flies.

The revo mix is usually inhibited by default. In the revo mix menu it should show "MIX: INH".

The exponential is also set to 0% by default. This is effectively "diabling" it. The reason they get you to disable it is because you can set the exponential in the control settings.
