Flying Clubs for beginners

Hello All,
This is my first post....and I'm after a little advice, could anyone let me know if there is a flying club that would welcome a total beginner to the sport?
I have a raptor 30 which has been checked out and test flown by a local model shop, but since then the heli has sat in my consevatory.
I've been playing around with a flight sim, but that's as far as I've gone.
I live in Tyne & Wear and I noticed that a few members live quite close to me.
Also is there anyone near to me who would give private tuition?
Any help or advice would be appreciated.

I live in Houghton, usually get to the field (nerch) every other week weather permitting. More than happy to meet at the field or if you have any questions I'm usually in the office or around.
