  • GY401 new servo

    Hi there all
I have a GY401 and a Futaba 9254 but the servo has stoped working, just as well I checked it before take off???
May qestion is a simple one when putting on a new servo do I need to do the full setup again?
    It’s a Raptor 60
    Thanks all for the help

takes 2 minutes to set a 401 up m8e ... I think I would set it up from scratch again just to get it right ... done once and it should be ok after that .... http://www.raptortechnique.com/gyrohowto.htm

If the position of the servo doesn't move, i.e. it's mounted on the boom on brackets that you don't need to move to remove the servo, then it should slot in and work fine.
You would be well advised to check that the centre position of the new servo is the same as the old one once fitted (get the servo horn in the right place, at 90°) - if it goes back in where the old one came out, the 401 travel limit should stay the same without binding and your gain settings and pirouette speed shouldn't change.

      Cheers,

Move the servo arm round till it's at 90 degs again (it should of been before), and all should be as it was.
Do re-check you've got no binding on full throw either way though.
