Next one up from CX2 ??

Hi guys & gals,

I took your kind advice and started with a Blade CX2 and got the Pheonix Sim.

I'm feeling ready to up the anti :-)

Did a quick search and it seems as if I should go for T'Rex 500 ??
I was thinking Blade 400 but I read it's not so stable and able in the wind as a Blade 400 ??

I have a large old church I practice in, should I even be trying to hover a bigger heli in there or am I going to kill myself?

As before I'll be taking your advice before I go ahead.

If it feels wrong about flying indoor & too close...then it is!

A blade coming off, or getting hit by anything bigger that a CX2 will really hurt.

If you can stretch to the 500 then I don't think you will be disappointed.
The blade 400 is a good little heli but not in the same league as the 500.

Stiks I'll be honest with you, I practice in a church yard approx 25ftX40ft opposite my house with a Blade400 absolutley no problem I put 4 battery's through it this evening in would could easily be called vigorously breezy conditions.
It responds instantly to downdrafts and with enough negative dialed in equally well to updrafts.

If you buy the Blade you will want to upgrade the tail servo and gyro almost immediately, go for the 500 if you can stretch to it, they handle the wind briliantly

The Trex 500 is going to be a stretch for me, I think to much, after giving hard it thought :-(
I suppose if I get the B400 at least I have the DX6i ready for when I'm liking a Trex 500.
If a get the B400 what servo's and gyro should I be looking to get?
I'll do a search in a mo, are there loads of options to get me really confused!

I'll then have:
Blade CX2
Easy Copter XS
Blade 400 3D
Trex 500

Looking at some of you guy's lists it's nowt ............... I guess that little bug sinks it's teeth in deeper every year !!

Initially you should be fine with the B400 as it is and then plan to upgrade the tail servo and gyro when you have the spare dosh.
The most common choice would be the GY401/S9257 combo.
But for a cheeper and just as good option, align have a new combo out for the 500, an RCE600 gyro and tail servo combo for a bargin &0 quid, 40 plus quid less than the GY401 and just as good, have the gyro fitted to my lads 450 and am impressed with it for the cash.

the blade 400 is a good cheap next step. and can be flown standard without up grades!whilst your learning you will crash and spares are cheap also.
once you get the hang of flying it then look towards upgrades and choose carefully so the parts you fit can be moved on to your next heli

3DX500 is cheaper mate if you want a 500 size chopper on a budget.

Hi mate.

Great to see your having fun with the CX2 & Sim, and you want to step up the ladder, The Trex 500 is stunning, as it the price tag once kitted out ready for flight.

However you'll be well impressed with the B400 system, the DX6i will keep you well busy on Phoenix, and for Christs sake leave the B400 on the ground until you've mastered using the new TX on Phoenix, it has a totally different feel to the sticks then the CX2 TX, and don't forget the training legs as well.

There's loads of upgrades you can add to her, plus the DX6i can follow you as your journey to flight expands to larger machines, but there's no rule saying you must go bigger, the 400 class are super stable, and say your next machine is a SE V2, that would be a fine addition to your fleet.

But foremost have fun and don't rush.
