  • Why, oh Why !!

    Hi Everybody,
Why, oh why did I buy this flipping helicopter. Its a LamaV4 and so far I have spent more time repairing it than flying it. But those few seconds in the air,wow ! I don`t tink I have had such a big grin on my face since I was a little boy.
I have a feeling this could become very expensive and am already wondering where to stash all the reciepts from the wife.
i amsure I will be on here asking questions, so thanks in advance,Chris.

I know what you mean - I've just rebuilt my CX2 - it had a weird vibration that was making it a bit iffy to fly. Put some new parts on and it flies much better - even trimmed it myself - big satisfaction when it flies as good as new again!!!

Well come to the money pit.... one screw without locktite cost me a trex500 today.... Blades.... Main shaft.... Flybar.... Main gear.... and a set of servo gears.... £40 as a minimum.... but hey its the first time since march when i last bust one and thet were the wrong side of £100...
          One Loose Screw !

It was impresive was at about 5' and it just keeled over to the left did nearly a complete roll before digging its way into a soft field a good 4" deep.... some real effort to pull it out...Servo arm fell off the servo.... how the boom survived i dont know...

If your not in too deep already then get out NOW!
You have no idea how much this can cost you.
I shudder to think how much I have spent in the last 6 months of being in this hobby but certainly in excess of £7000.
Its a great hobby but a real money pit.
I am sure you can get away with less but it all depends on how hard you push things.
            Good luck and welcome.
            Adrian.

My Lama is starting to remind me of the story of the retiring road sweeper.

Christ machasm, don,t scare everyone off. Either you crash an awful lot & buy the most expensive bits out there, or you buy a bit of bling after every crash.
I recently crashed my twister 3ds & bits cost in the region of £20. I also bined my Trex 600n on my first go & that cost me less than £70, for blades, servo - gear wheels & skids.
Granted, I'm keeping it safe at the mo & not being all balls out. But 7K mate, I'd have a go at flying the real macoy.
You can teach a man everything. Apart from experience.

                        Your pretty much right there.
I have been in a few times. Wrote my 600NSP off 2nd time in. 1st time cost in excess of £200.
I do tend to get the more expensive kit (bling) and really should have taken the advise of other members and kept to more moderate stuff.
Bear in mind that in that time I have bought new

I don't know what it means, but sounds scary enough to give me the heebie jeebies. Your wife must have alot of shoes.....................

I now remember you answering my thread after I crashed my T600 & thinking, Christ, I'd have given up the will to live. Top man & I envy the depth of your wallet & the understanding of your wife.
