Thanks. Can't wait cambs flyer. I will get it this week as I feel I'm on a roll with all the encouragement from this forum it's nice to know I'm not alone
Spoke to Paul at Century today and he hadn't actually flown a Neon Blaze but advised me to carefully note the 2 pot adjusters positions then gradually change only one at a time. The test hovers had to be fitted in between the showers but I reckon increasing the gyro "sens" has just about fixed the "pulling to the right". And the "limit" pot seems to make it twitchier when increased and calmer when decreased. Just thought I'd share this if someone else has the same problem.
Actually did a 20 secondish hover now it tracks straighter before I ran out of back garden so I'm grinning even more stupidly now
I know that stupid grin thing, I've had one on my face from the day i got my Heli This sites title is spot on! "IM AN ADDICT" lol
And to my fellow addicts........
:ack2: Is it a bird?, Is it a plane?,:confused::confused:.........No its a..........

Same here, I was going to have a session this morning, stepped outside and thought "bugger this."
Well done anyway mate, and remember, take it really slow while your at this delicate stage.
Thanks for all your advice cf. I didn't mention that I nearly had to change the underwear afterwards did I? I just kept waiting till the wind dropped and I suppose it wasn't really a hover - just applying opposite everything to keep it inside my garden. A bit like controlling a lively puppy on a long elastic lead
Hoping to collect a copy of Phoenix tomorrow if it isn't too busy at work and I can get to the model shop and back during a long lunch (its 15 miles away)
I've had Phoenix now for a couple of days and it is amazing. Thanks to cf and all who pointed me towards it. It's made me realise just how cocky and lucky I was with my first hovering attempts. Accidents just creep up on you on Phoenix so I've put the Neon Blaze back in the box now lucky to still have it in one piece. I'm still practicing on the Bell 47 contra out in the garage and flying on Phoenix is so realistic - I can't seem to leave it alone
One thing I forgot to mention was during a couple of hovers outside at the weekend near our garden pond I heard a ping noise and something flew off to the side. Both times it turned out to be a dragonfly that must have been attracted to the spinning rotors I suppose. Both dead I'm afraid. Anyone else had that happen?
I'm really please you took up Phoenix mate, you wont regret it for a second, and ain't it dead cool to play with.
Your make some superb progress now Bro' and crash to your hearts content with out so much as scratching your real Bird.
Try and leave your BCP alone for the next few weeks and Cram up on the Sim, you'll have a nice surprise once you've gained many hours having fun safely on the Sim, do what I done, everytime I crashed I counted each crash and roughly said each crash cost me £15 after a few hours you'll be in the ££££.
Your on the road to success mate, and I wish you the very best, plus with the collective knowledge base here you'll always have an answer to your questions, the guy's here came up trumps when I didn't have a clue, (still don't, lol) but that's the fun of this hobby, it's a constant learning curve, and keeps you on your Toes.
Good & happy flying Bud'.
