walkera 1#b not good

hi all got myself the little 4#3b for indoors and after 3 weeks can buzz round the house great fun love it and i have now got the rc heli bug you all talk about so i went and got myself a cheap heli a walkera 1#b with training legs on for about £80 and i think iv made a mistake i know i will master my heli bug but not with this heli i should have got a blade 400 i am in it for the long hall and plenty land outside my backdoor to fly these bad boys so do you think i should invest in a blade or t.rex like i sead im in it long term i love my new hobby and will master it with a few bumps along the way no doubt any help will be appreciated so do i bin the walkera and get something more beginner friendly thanks sparky

Yeh defo get something better... TRex 450 se v2/Mini Titan SE or Blade 400 get my vote. Keep your eyes open though as theres a few new 450's coming out soon. Oh and go 2.4 Ghz if ya can. Another must have is Phoenix RC sim. Do all your crashing on the sim and not on the helis.

Sparky, you wont go far wrong with Phoenix. Although a newbie myself I believe it's a critical part of the hobby.......as for your next heli, don't choose it from Phoenix, do some reserch and ask loads of questions! It might be you only want to fly in your local park or join a club, etc..........do alot more investgation prior to your important next purchase and good luck..........glad you like the 4#3 I love mine.............

thanks for the advice eddie ill get some hours in on phonenix try and get this walkera 1#b off teraferma and practice practice iv mastered the little 4#3b(makes me smile that little heli) if i can fly that ill get to grips with the bigger helis i love my new hobby i aways wanted to fly helis from a kid (now 39)my mates dad had a hedge hopper i don't think that was it real name we just called it that.it was awesome but very expensive now alot cheaper and easier to get hold off and i think little helis like 4#3 can only get you in to flyin helis take it easy chaps happy flyin

I honestly can't add a to the advice you've been given, except that I didn't find the Buzzly (rebranded 4#3b) easy at all, but can fly my Blade 400. I know everyone's different. I was having my doubts with my 400 as people on here can tell you, but flew her Saturday for the first time under guidance, and now I love her to bits. A lot of guys on here will recommend the T-Rex 450, some will say the Titan E325 and still others will suggest you go the nitro route.

Whichever way you choose make sure it's right for you. Just remember that the Blade 400 is RTF out of the box, but will have it's foibles because of it. The others are kits, which on the downside means you have to buy all the servos/radio gear etc. first, on the upside you'll know them inside out when you crash (and I'm sorry to say you WILL crash). But don't get put off by that, as re-building them after is quite fun too. As everyone has said, do the time on Phoenix, it does help immensely when you start flying a bigger heli. Not one of my first 6 flights ended in more than a heavy landing, albeit in at least 1 case more luck than skill. But I was lucky to have a good teacher at my side, who kept me focussed. You'll love it, and welcome to a new world of fun. And an empty wallet. LOL

hi and thanks to all for advice very friendly and its good to know if i need help i can come here and get help from people who know. i will enjoy the kit form i love to build things .as a kid i built a lot of remote controlled cars a Subaru brat was my 1st i know helis will be more of a challenge but once you do it like you said you know your way round it .I'm in no hurry so i will take my time in making the rite choice.neil

Walkera 1B

I have been trying and learnd a bit how to fly a heli with a Walkera 1B, but I did My first flight with my Titan and its a different story. Still I am a bit afraid to fly the titan, but found it hard to fly again the 1B
