first of all great site guys. it all started for me with a stupid foam thing, then down to the model shop and they recommended the twister medivac and i bought it. next was the walkera, i can hear you all say noooooo not for a newbie. well i much prefer it to the twister, the only problem being if i get to close to my wife she swats it with a cushion and she did that last night sending it flying across the room. i am looking forward to my next purchase maybe a trex 450. again great site guys.

As quoted a 450 size heli would be a good heli to start on but flying those indoors is not recommended.
Find a club and get some idea of what you would like first hand without spending your hard earned then realising you made a bad decision.
Some people actuall start on Raptor 30 size machines or even a 50 size heli as they are much more stable in flight.
Good luck in whatever decision you make.

dont worry i wouldnt dream of flying it indoors. i would like the trex 500 but the price of the lipos put me of at near £100, i would need 3 or 4 packs to keep me happy. cant really blame her for swating it as i was trying to land it on the sofa beside her. tying her hands behind her back wouldnt help, she would just kick it.

The 500 is a fantastic heli and you really should consider buying one if you are serious about this hobby.Originally posted by hellfire View Posti would like the trex 500 but the price of the lipos put me of at near £100, i would need 3 or 4 packs to keep me happy.
As for lipos you can buy 5s or 6s packs for around £60 each if you look in the right direction making your figures some way out..
COUGH COUGH.. Sorry I have a bad cough..

Li-pos are not 100 pounds more like 70 pounds for the 500Originally posted by hellfire View Postdont worry i wouldnt dream of flying it indoors. i would like the trex 500 but the price of the lipos put me of at near £100, i would need 3 or 4 packs to keep me happy. cant really blame her for swating it as i was trying to land it on the sofa beside her. tying her hands behind her back wouldnt help, she would just kick it.
T-rex 500 is more stable than the T-rex 450 though and easier to fly

Hi and welcome to the site.
I agree a trex 500 would be a more stable choice.
Can't beat a nitro for begineers though, you can get much more flying in as bar the receiver and tx packs, you can just keep flying untill you run out of juice.
Raptor 30's is an ideal choice and a freind of mine has come on in leaps and bounds since buying one and he gets alot more flying in.James
