Right so i head of to a model shop the other Mon and see this Heli in the window,RTF £149.99 blimmy i thought all that for silly money cant be any good,so i go in the shop and ask the nice man behind the counter about these helicopters are these any good for beginers yes they are he reply just the ticket o start with... so i buy one for my boy take it home and charge it up,first flight cant even get it to hover smash the feathering shaft bend main shaft take it back to the shop and they watch over me while i repair it.Well this goes on for about 3 weeks try to fly crash take it back to the shop they have a look at the repairs and fly it,i ask what does it fly like yah its great realy stable so keep on piling money into it and keep crashing,i tohught i cant keep spending this sort of money so i buy a Trex 450 of fleabay have to do a bit of work to it but hay what a difference so if you think yor saving money buy buying cheap DON'T.I will let others guess at what heli it was and i bet it wont belong before someone guesses right.....

Did they not suggest a simulator to help you get the idea before trying to fly for real ?
Would have been the best £80 you spent

Why would they suggest a simulator when they know full well that you’re going to spend a serious heap of cash trying to fix the heli that they shouldn’t have sold you in the first place!!
The simulator is definitely the way to go, followed by something fairly benign, i.e. a contra-rotating heli to help you with your stick control and orientation. Training gear will help with the landings (thin carbon rod with a bit of cork on each end does the trick nicely – less than £3 or just have ours!). You can also fly it indoors with minimal damage to both the heli and your home!! Just take it nice and slow and steady.
Only then would I suggest taking the next step and having a go with the 450.
You’re not that far away - me and Leebert (Mr) fly at Epsom Downs and Redhill. PM one of us if you would like to join us one day at the field.

I love mine, but it has certainly taught me a thing or two (like how to rebuild it)
