  • Tail Rotor Not Working On Dragonfly 36

I landed my heli from 2 feet. (Crashed). And now the tail rotor does not spin when the main rotor does.

It seems to be connected when I turn it by hand. But no joy when flying.

    Any Ideas please.

sounds like just turning gently (low load) it is fine but when you spin it up the drive is slipping.

    check your belt tention.

      Hi Mate

Your heavy landing will have probably stripped the inner tail roter drive cog. It is not too difficult to replace (probably 15-30mins). It happens when the tail rotor gets stopped for any reason while the motor is still running rather fast. Usually the tail roter gets stopped by the length of the grass you fly on but as you get better you will be able to fly from concrete and this problem will be a thing of the past. Stick with it they are great fun. it is possible that your heavy landing just moved the boom assembly forward and as the tail roter is connected to this it will slacken the belt tension. you could loosen the boom supports move the boom outwards slightly towards the tail roter and then fix it back in place with good tension on the belt.
If you did strip the gear let me know they are not expensive as with most of the dragonfly parts. I am a UK stockist of Dragonfly parts based in manchester. I send most things out overnight/next day delivery. I can assist you with any parts/upgrades that you may need.
