  • Thinking about building first heli, advice

    Just a quick one....

Really been thinking hard over the last day or so (after flying again, briefly) about purchasing a new Heli, but I'd like to build this one myself and see if I can get my head around it all.

Do you guys have any sites or video's I should visit for guidence?

    Cheers for help.
    Cheers

Ahh! someone at the field recommended this site for help.

I'm not a DIY chap at all, and usually fail when I try my hand at anything practical, but I wish to get over that

Good place to start I hope heh.
          Cheers

Cant go far wrong with the Trex Nitro Super Pro Kit. I have just built one, and like you i am no dab hand at this sort of thing. As long as you have some basic tools, loctite, CA and epoxy and deffo a set of Heli hex drivers you cant go wrong. I followed the Finless Bob videos and it was a snip. Even without using them, the manual is spot on and very easy to follow. And, at the end of it you are presented with a great heli!

Almost as important, a place that you can leave your gear set out during the build as it probably take a few days and i hate nothing more than clearing away every time you finish for the day. I have now got a dedicated area set aside in the garage which only i have permission to enter
