  • Raptor blade size

    Hello all
What size blades can a Raptor 50 Titan take? I know they use 600mm blades, but have heard that they can take 680mm, is this true? If it is true what are the benefits of using the larger blades?

Well I have 620mm main and 92mm tail and they are a close fit, not sure 680mm would fit?

Ive not heard of anyone using longer than 620mm which is what I use on mine.

the bigger the blade the bigger the disc and therefore more stability, plus ive found alot of different in the 600 and 620 for doing things like auto's where you can keep a higher headspeed more easily.
      All the best
      Tony.

680's are for 90 class only THEY ARE TOO LONG FOR YOUR TITAN.

the bigger the blade the lower the headspeed needed for the required response. and thus makes it more stable. tbh youd be better on the rappy winding up the headspeed to 2000 - 2100 and using high end blades such as radix, torsion, v blades etc. Im currently on rjx pro carbons (cos i got them cheap) and i reckon they are as good as radix and auto a bit more forgivingly

I think I'm correct in saying.....

          Bigger blades = More stability

          Smaller blades = Faster cyclics

          [EDIT]

          Kev got in there first..

you 60 might swing em but it will be underpowered to death. I know the rappy 60 and 90 are basically the same but the big 680s on a 60 motor will be like using 600's on a 30. Best bet ram a 90 in there and go overkill!!!

I changed up to 620 NHP Razor Pro 2 from 600 stock blades for my Titan, but left the stock tail blades on. Should i have put longer tail blades on? i.e, The longer the main blades, the longer the tail blades should be? If you leave the short tail blades on, does that mean that more pitch is needed to keep the heli straight, thus, more drag?

stock blades should be fine, if in doubt fit the razor 95mm tails as well

Just another thought....if you put 620mm on after running 600mm do you need alter anything with the heli setting?

No mate, The response will be a tad different but nothing major.
