I am using a loong Max Lipo from Giant Cod (£16),its a 3s 2250 25c,i use it in my acromaster plane and 450.I have run it time and time again till the model wont fly anymore and it has come off many a time over 60 degree C and it just keeps on going.

Running it alongside Maxpoly and Revos i see no difference at all

Trying a 6s 5000 Electrolite in my 600E at the moment(£113) posted and so far so good, seems VERY powerful.

I am a great believer in cheaper end Lipos and they are all getting better and better

EC POWER ones also seem OK and they are cheap also on Ebay

buying well known or expensive lipos is not always a guarantee I bought 4 x 3s 3700mah flight power lipos for my mini hype plank, they have all gone bad on me over the last few months, I cant tell you exactly how many cycles they have had as I didnt log them, but they have all been looked after, only ever 80% always charged properly usually using a cellpro 4s charger, but they have died anyway.

Maxpoly batteries I got for my 500 and their fantastic as are all the revos ive bought from Aurrora had some 3s 2100 for my 450 they have done loads of cycles and their just as good now as when I started using them, or a least appear to be.
      All the best
      Tony.

Going back to the first question on this thread about a TP lipo lasting 7 minutes and the owner expecting a high quality lipo to last longer (flight time) than a cheap one.

If both packs are the same capacity then it don't matter whether is cost 1.99 or 109.99 you will still only get 7 mins. The differences between good lipo and cheap lipo are usually voltage hold (headspeed) under load and cycle life.

I'm a cynical barsteward, I don't think ANY of the current "expensive" lipo's, perform adequately for the money you pay.

This technology is new, so hopefully the overall quality, power and particularly the longevity will improve, or the prices will drop to reflect the woefully short lives they have currently.

If you have a cheap supplier, who provides reasonable performance, go for it, because you'll not see much difference from the "expensive" suppliers.

May seem a silly question but how do you know if you have over discharged? I have the Belt Cp with standard battery and balance charger. I am only starting out so 5 mins or so is fine before my concentration starts to wander and the sweat starts to pour off my hands! With no voltage meter or any other way of checking it does the power start to drop off slowly or in one big bang?

Try one of these - great little gadgets! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/2s-6s-Lipo-Bat...742.m153.l1262

The ESC on the Belt CP will detect lowering voltage and cut the power before the voltage drops below 3VPS so you don't damage your battery. However, it does happen quite suddenly, so best to time your flight

The company are a bit of a pain because they have hardly any stock

But the Loong Max Lipo i did get from them has been very good,i noticed they are now £20 not £16 when i got mine so they are nearer to the more mainstream brands but when i next need some 3s packs they would be first on the list as long as they have the stock

There is no doubt in my mind that the cheaper stuff is getting better,we just need the dearer stuff to get cheaper

Take the FP cells back where you got them and assuming they are not crash damaged you will get new packs, also assuming you haven't had them a silly amount of time

Why I've used FP for so long, if they die you get a new pack, simple

Quite correct Phil, have taken two FP lipos back after quite a few months and got a brand new replacement over the counter no questions asked.
