  • TT39 h PRO carb settings

Hello just joined this site so far so good

I've only been flying for about 6 months now with my raptor V1 and having carb trouble anybody know the factory settings for the idle control needle many thanks

just so you know i have been flying planes for 12 years so not a compleate novice with glow enginges

it is running to lean and getting hot

I have never found the stock settings to be too useful and the TT39 is notorious for running on the hot side even when excessively rich

The thing to remember with the TTs is that the idle screw controls the mixture over 70% of the throttle range. If its getting hot in the hover then its worth winding the idle screw out half a turn.

    However...

if its been running fine for a while and has just started acting up then I would be looking at your fuel filter the fuel lines in the tank.

      TT39 carb settings

thanks for the advise one thing i did forget to mention is it sounds like its bogging down and some times if left on idle for say when your carrying the modle to the h pad and then walk back to the flight line when you go to throttle up it will stutter, some times it will pull through some times it will cut out it's been like it from the start it will also on a fine day loose all power and slowly desend even when applying more throttle and colective it wont go up  im starting to thing about dumping the engine and rebuilding an old os 32H given to me in pices

the stutter off of idle is because it is either rich or lean on idle. (probably rich)

        what fuel are you running?

I think you should change the clunk lines in the fuel tank and header tank if you have one.

clunk lines, especially the stock TT ones go soft with age (3 months use) and cause all sorts of weird problems.

I always swap them out for normal fuel line. Its a bit stiff to start with but will soften after a while.

hello again your going to get fed up with me

I've changed the clunk lines changed the glow plug for an OS no 8 there was an OS as3? in there had a fiddle with the settings i thought i had cured it to day the first flight started off really well but as it started to get hot it lost power and sunk out of the sky when i touched the crank case i burnt my self so as you can tell it was very hot i've got the main needle set to 2.3/4 turns so it should not be running lean the only conclusion i can now come up with is there is an internal fault with the engine, any other suggestions any one, as im getting to the point of ripping out the engine and fitting a rubber band!

2 3/4 is pretty lean stock is 3 turns I think which tends to be on the lean side, especially if the idle side screw is a touch on the lean side too.

the TT carb is a little different to others, the idle screw adjusts quite a large portion of the throttle. So if its getting hot in the hover you should wind the bottom scew out. If its getting hot when flying around its more likely to be the main(high) needle.
