Got lucky......

Took the belt out for its second flight today, first three hovers all went well, on the fourth a gust sent it to about 5 foot high and sideways, introduced some rather large stick inputs and it was off..... rather than stack it I added more collective, at about 20 or 30 feet it all settled down although it was about 40 metres away by now, a few deep breaths and flew a ropey circuit, turned it tail in and landed safely. About 5 mins off deep breaths off it went again, a few more controlled hovers, out of ground effect it settled down and hovered fantastically! Landed without further incident and when the adrenaline had gone I went home....

A lucky escape for the belt and a bit of a confidence boost when i didnt panic and kept my cool. Biggest shock was how quickly it can all go wrong!!

Need a beer! or two!
