Just saying hi, and a question.

Hi, I've been lurking here a while and thought I ought to say ello.

Recently whilst flying my Blade 400 I have noticed the ESC running extremely hot. I'm using 2200mah and 1800mah LiPo's.

1st battery's always ok (about 6-7mins flying time) but on the 2nd and subsequent batteries it's always switching to low power mode (about every 2-3 mins on average) and I'm struggling not to bin it.

I've decided to go ahead and order an Align 35A Esc with BEC. to replace the stock 25A ESC.

Was this a good move? and will I be able to program it easily enough? even though all the instructions I can find on the web are anything but simple.

sounds like a good move to me. It may have cost you the whole heli instead just an esc.
Let us know how you get on with the new one.

I think a new ESC is the right move (mine blew up and took most of the heli with it).
Although I might have chosen a different ESC rather than an Align product.
Programming it is pretty straightforward really.

A friend of mine tried a higher rayed batt on the blade 400 and it did go up in smoke, then fitted the align esc and has been fine since

Last night my esc completely gave up the ghost, wont spin the main blades at more than about 100rpm now. Taken it out and awaiting my align35A with BEC.
