  • First proper panik flight today :D

Over the last week or so ive gone from hovering the 500 on the spot-ish tail in, to floating it around the sky a bit to the left/right and higher up.

Well today had my first go at piros, left went well... right when not so good and nearly dropped it!

When back up, and somehow after a few better piros, i ended up about 30yards off the field, tail in, very high, and scared meself silly! Took what seemed like ages trying to tail it back in, i know from the sim half the time when this happens it wanders off into the distance....

Anyway luckily for me it came back... rather fast, and nearly dropped it again! i think two things helped, overhearing a convo between learner and instructor where they were in a similar situation, saying'its coming , just keep pulling it back, tail down...' and the fact that i was damned if i was letting go of the sticks till it hit the ground!

Promptly packed up and went home!

All part of the learning curve inferno..

Believe me it won't be "if" you have your first crash but "when".

We all have them from the beginners to the experts so learn to live with the bits that frighten you to death mate.. Its the "BUZZ" that makes us go back for more..

Just enjoy every new move you make, Today it sounds like you have made some progress (without a crash) so that's a big plus..

Sunday's weather is looking good, Get it back out there and build up your confidence again with some tail in light hovering and before you know it you will be chucking it about all over..

or the point where i do the funky chicken

it was a bit windy, which wasnt helping.

buster i did hover a few mins out after nearly losing it, but that was enough, i think tomorow if its good and not too busy i might try idle up or circuits, im pretty much ok with side on to the side, but need nose in, and then practice not losing orientation!
