trying to hover

hello fello flyers
i'm new to this heli flyin, please could someone help or give me some tips.
i went out yesterday to fly my raptor 30v2 csm180 gyro jr2610 trans,the problem i had, is when i go to lift lift the heli it turns around anti clockwise.do i need to take it a exp flyer so he can check it over?,or is this a normal response from the heli.

the gyro needs setting up correctly. It sounds like the whole model needs a good check over.

ive herd that the futaba 401 gyro is a great buy,should i be upgrading so soon?,or will the gsm180 do for the time being.this heli flyin is rocket science.....

Hey there, I have just started, only had about 9 tanks of fuel so far and after 2 tanks I binned my csm HL200 gyro and got a 401. you won't believe the difference but if you should go for a 401 then get it along with the dedicated servo. As has been pointed out you really need to get an experienced pilot to make sure everything is set up right as trying to learn with things out of line/not right etc will just hamper your progress even more.

All the best and if you need a cheap 401 & servo check out neogl on ebay, I had a 401 off him last week for my x400 and it took 4 days from hongkong & I didnt get hit by customs. There is nobody I know that can match him for price including shipping.

we are doing the 401 with its dedicated 9254 digital tail servo for 170.38ukp thats a warrenttee on it.

UK prices dont suck as much as the used to.

I paid 125 for a 401 & servo a few weeks back. unfortunately because of the way the retail system works over here then retailers are given a lowest price by the manufacturer and arn't allowed to lower this because it would under cut the rest of the people selling the same product ( i think this is how it is ) Until this changes i refuse to buy from the uk unless it's fuel or small items as I am sick of paying over inflated prices. The pro's far outway the con's when buying from oversea's & even when getting stung for import taxes, stuff still ends up costing less.

Just my opinion, but i likes it so will stick to it

Ed, that 74ukp was for a 401 only. Our price for the 401 + 9254 is 170ukp is inc vat. that leaves you with 9254 and 401 at 85ukp each INCLUDING VAT

WE set prices our so that some money. Compared to other segments of the retail market the margins are VERY low how many model shop owners do you know that drive around in flash cars and own big houses?

As for the 125ukp, did you get caught on Tax? You add the tax and maybe a handling fee to that and you get to 150ukp.

Suddenly thats not so far off is it? Now take into account the level of service you might get with that if it goes wrong you have to send it back to the far east. the shipping is not going to be cheap is it?

Anybody remember how much a 401 with a 9253 was a few years back in the uk? I am pretty sure it was over 200ukp.

We are trying but there is only so much we can do, at the end of the day we are in it to make a living. We have rent to pay food to buy etc etc.

Ade, I aint blaming you, I realise you have overheads etc but I was just pointing out that there are cheaper alternatives, I did say there were pros and cons. The 401 & 9254 was 125 delivered (new) and was actually sourced from this country and all legal, so no tax was needed. But my last 401 was from the far east because I wanted to see how long service took for future reference. As for service if parts are faulty then I can honestly say that I wouldn't trust the majority of LHS proprietors as I have had nothing but hassel and excuses in the past and find service generally better from our international cousins.

Also the stupid amount being charged for delivery over here by some companies is plain daylight robbery, I know how much things cost to send & package and if you can explain why it costs the same to send an engine 3500 miles from the USA by airmail than from 150 miles down the M6, please enlighten me.

The 401 & 9254 was 125 delivered (new) and was actually sourced from this country and all legal,

send it to ripmax or any other european distributer, see what they say :-)

I know what you are saying about most shops but doesnt mean we are all like that.
