  • Honey Bee King 2

I Posted a while back saying following a small crash, parts have now been replaced, my helicopter is rotating, i have followed the previous advice and tried adjusting the gyro and moving the distance of the servo. It has worked to a degree and it has slowed the rotation but i cant stop it totally, can anything else be bent or not functioning properly to cause this other than the gyro?
    Thanks

I believe that having too low a head speed can cause this. On the stock radio, one of the knobs will reduce the amount of collective pitch and so give you a higher head speed; I'm pretty sure subzzero's videos on youtube cover this.

I am assuming when plugging the battery in your leaving it still and not touching the sticks until the gyro sets and the red/blue light comes on solid
        All the best

Yes, However since crashing it the gyro has flasged and not set 2 times. Apart from that yes i'm waiting for it to set.

May be the gyro is damaged after you crashed.

              Bee King 2

Would that cause it to spin uncontrollably?
I only clipped the wing. Although it did snap it off. The rest was fine nothing else bent.
If the gyro is dead, where should i go to get one, any websites you can recommend
              Thanks

I'd think it unlikely the gyro is dead; besides, the job of the gyro (in rate mode, at least) isn't to stop the heli turning completely, but to make it more manageable; the basic 'stop it turning in the hover'ness is done through mechanical setup; move that servo further up (down?) the boom.

AIUI the diagram in the manual has the tail belt twisting the wrong way; the tail blades should come up at the front, thick side first. If you've replaced the tail at some point maybe you done this wrong, but I think it's unlikely by the description.

The gyro will probably refuse to initialize unless the rudder trim is central.

Anytime the main blades hit anything other than air, you will bend the feathering spindle. Replace it; if nothing else it will generate vibration which will confuse your gyro. You may have bent the mast, too, though that used to be pretty hard on the King.

OK thanks, I have been told there is a guy who will check it out and repair it for me so i'll send it there. I have tried to move the servo on the boom, it has helped but still spinning slowly.
                  Thanks

Esmart... 600 size, they look like theyd be a good bit of kit if he got his finger out and got one in the air!

Bet he didnt charge much either Try not to crash them, why not do what ive done and master a tail in hover with hbk2, then move on to the trext 500 or something similar? neil has one of those on his wall too...

Well i took two helis down. Bought a crashed one cheap and got him to fix that aswel. Both needed a few parts but overall quite happy with the price for what he has done. Its transformed them. Just had it out today and so much easier to keep it under control. The one i got at christmas had a faulty squash plate and wobbled (bearing collapsed) so got all that fixed. Yeah i liked the look of the T-REX. Thanks for the help!
