  • Hone bee 2 or belt CP

Ive been suitablt put off the Mini pred and whilst looking at others have noticed the esky belt CP and HB2. add phoenix and for around £200 (the wife is budgeting now) I may be able to get into the hobby. The questionis which one??

Can anyone give me some pros and cons of each?

    Many thanks

The HBK2 will need a brushless moter and esc, probably wise to do this before trying to fly it tbh. Also a heading hold gyro and a digital tail servo to make the tail stay half steady.

The biggest improvement i had with mine was buying a DX7 Tx and AR6100 Rx for it.

Ive not flown the other 2 you mention, but im sure in the right hands there all as capable as the other. the hbk2 is not suitable in the wind really.

Be ready for the belt to fray/strip teeth, main and feathering shafts to bend , and i also broke a few other bits, nothing major though.

Had 4 or 5 flights on the Trex 500 now and id seriously suggest starting out with something nearer that size to start with

Just saw your budget... thats how i started too... buy the sim, a second hand tx to practice with, and start saving

Esky belt CP is better. 20C lipo and brushless motor, much more powerful. Big szie which is more stable.

          I know I know.......

The blade looks fantastic in comparison, different beasts I suppose, I think maybe phoenix and a decent Tx ma be the cheapest and easiest intro to the hobby, master that then go for a blade or maybe a T-rex..... I'm having enough frustrations without buying a heli, going to drive me insane when I get one....

right if you want to go down that route. get yourself phoenix and a dx6i. then look at a twister storm 3d its almost identical to the blade
