  • Am I mental?

The guy who sits next to me in the office has a T-REX450 SE and as an engineer I was struck as how well built it was. This rekindled my desire to fly models and in particular Heli's. After playing around on his sim (Phoenix) for a couple of hours I was comfortable hovering and flying around with the obvious crashes here and there when confidence overcame ability!

My question is this, is a mini pred the way to go for an entry level heli to learn on? I dont like to dip my toe in so a twin bladed heli isn't for me open to any thoughts form people in the know...

    Many thanks!

stay WELL clear of the mini pred.

if your on a budget the blade 400 is a good buy at less than 300ukp or the trex 450 se V2 with all the "normal" bits which will probably cost you about 600ukp

Damn sorry to see that .. I started with a mini pred and liked it .... for a beginner they do stil lneed setting up by someone that knows what there doing and the Tx is crap .... but i got mine pretty cheap so was not that bothered as already had a FF7 to add it to ... But it flew ok and hovered nice and stable .. well for a small elec heli n e way ... If i had the option of the blade 400 when i went for helis then i would have bought that instead ... Hmm best not mention i own a hawk pro then lol ....

                            The right way

But in this hobby 200 pounds is hard to fly on and if money worries you don't even get into it! a good gyro and tail servo is 149 pounds alone!

                            i'd say look at this...

but beware 2nd hand is not really ideal:

                            http://www.bmfaclassifieds.co.uk/detail.php?id=57323

Or look in the classifieds on here who knows there might be a bargain you never know

but come and see us at the club and see whats what and see what the other heli flyers say not just me.
