Extreme 380X brushed motor for HBFP

Please share your experience with "Extreme 380X brushed motor w/ 9T pinion" ? How does it compare with Slo-Max 300 Brushed Motor ?

When I rotate 380X motor gear by hand (without mounting on HBFP frame), it offers considerable more resistance than stock motor. Is this normal ?

On some forum:

There have been some cases where smoke started coming out of the 4in1 after motor was connected.
The motor does seem good, but a word of warning, check the brush wires, mine were both shorting on the case where they exit the brush holders, good thing I spotted this, as it may be the cause of some of the 4in1 failures people are reporting, this does look like a bad design. I will have to get into the habit of checking this before each flying session with the Heli.
