  • Lubricants?

Hello, I'm new to the forum.

I bought a Raptor 30 a few weeks ago and am having loads of fun crashing it, rebuilding it, and finally... learning how to fly it.

I've seen a few references to lubricating certain parts but don't know what lubricants I should be using, or where I should be using them. Main gear? Swash plate? Tail pitch control slider? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks, Rob.

Youll get all sorts of recomendations for oil, (I use finish line dry lube), but almost any light oil will do the trick.
Tail pitch slider, main shaft/washout bock/swash and every now and then dribble some around the one-way bearing in your main gear.
Ive never lubed the maingear on raptors only one I have is on a vario, and that has a different gearing system.

      Dry

If yo are gonna lube any part of your heli, try to use a dry silicon / ptfe / teflon based spray as anyhting that stays liquid, or sets will A, be flung around everywhere while you fly, and B pick up dust and grit particals and turn into grinding past leading to the obviouse accelarated wear.
-I don't crash, I just land with enthusiasm.

A couple of 600n's with stuff on them that makes them fly..
A 550 fbl with even more stuff on it to make it fly
And a Mars 470 which needs stuff putting on it to make it fly

      And a DX8 too
