I got a Blade 400 then proceeded to spend what I saved on a Trex on new servos and new gyro as the original servos stripped almost immediatly and the gyro couldn't hold straight!
Fitted HS65MG to the cyclics a 9257 on the tail and a 401.
Flies a lot better now but probably should have got a TREX straight off the bat. The spares for the blade are cheap though but a little awkward to source.
Can't help with the Titan I'm afraid.

Way I see it is this:

Do you want RTF = Blade 400
Do you want to build it first = Titan, TREX450 et al.

If you just want to fly and not wait till it's built, then the Blade 400 is to the best of what I know about the best option out there. That's from listening to the people who have them on this forum. It even comes well recommended by a guy on YouTube who worked on Blue Thunder, so I'm guessing if anyone knows what they're talking about when it comes to RC helis....

It's going to be my choice for my first 400 class anyway. But really I think it is just that, personal choice, I know nothing about the bigger helis yet.

Get a nitro 50 size or electric 50 size maybe

Far more stable and easier to fly

I persisted with the Blade for months and experienced gyro and servo issues and problems sourcing spares. Got a Trex 4500 Se V2 now...kinds should have gone that way from the off...

Next step from what? What are you currently flying and for how long?

I got the Twister 3D Storm which is pretty similar to the Blade 400. I have also spent on new servos, gyro etc. as per other Blade flyers.

I had played with nitro heli's in the past and stopped the hobby due to cost, time and difficulty so I didn't know whether I would be sticking with a 400 size electric heli. As it happens I think they are great, so in hindsight I should have gone straight for a T-Rex 450, but at the time I wasn't sure how serious I would get into the hobby.

Bigger size heli's are more stable but often more expensive to repair when they crash. Nitro can also be noisy so may limit your flying times.

Whatever you choose, good luck, and have fun.

                Gary.

Raptor 30 with OS 32 and AR6100E (flying again)
Twister 3D Storm, DX7 and AR6100. DS285's on the main rotor and S3153 on the tail with a JR G770T.
                Blade CX2, DX7 and AR6100E
                Walkera 4#3B seriously fun
                Walkera 4G3 seriously scary
                Phoenix Sim with Blade 400.

If you like it loud and dirty, only Nitro will really hit the spot!

well i think the blade is a cracking little heli! mine is still flying on the original gyro and the only problem ive had with servo's is after a crash. (perkins twister gear sets fit £1.99)
apart from that its totaly reliable. and at £269 including the dx6i bloody good value. spares are cheap and the shortage apears to be over. there are also a few coming on the market 2nd hand now

I gotta agree with Boggy above, but would probably leave out the Blade and go for a Raptor 30 if finances allow. I find mine much easier and more stable for a learner..

                      first get a sim

second you can kit out a knight sport for similar money to a trex 450se v2. only "downside" is you need to join a club to fly it...

not that its a downside as you will have access to a whole stack of good info and help getting the model right...

                      knight sport is 160ukp
                      http://www.evorc.com/product.php/3/c...t-50-sport-kit

                      3x futaba 3152 are around 20ukp each

                      futaba 401/9254 is 140ukp
                      os 50hyper is 115ukp
                      mp5 muffler is 54ukp

other bits and pieces like wood blades, battery and throttle servo is about 50ukp

add your prefered TX and reciever to that and your good to go with a model that is capable of doing the book when your ready without upgrades. but can be detuned to fly super smooth and stable to start with.

heres a vid from ages ago before they came up with the new canopy.
