Hi Dean ,when in forward flight even 450's can jump up or down 10 feet in the wind , sounds normal to me , just another thing to fling into the heli mix , lol

        Hi Dean,
        Check my PM,
We know Normally, it does fly ok in the wind... If possible how is it with no wind? (I know thats a big ask in the UK)

You said you had a mishap recently so, check through your gears for meshing & smooth operation, check main & tail blades for any nicks / damage, do a balance check of the main & tail blades. When in the hover check if the skids and / or the tail has any vibration, if so then you need to find the cause.
Vibration will upset the FBL unit.
When power up before flight, ensure heli is on level ground and that the wind is not moving the heli whilst it is initialising.

I am back soon so we can sort it.

I wouldn't say my 230S shakes in the wind. It does "bounce" around a bit if it is gusty.
It also sometimes "porpoises"/tail bobs when it is flying fast(ish) into the wind -- I think that that is probably a gain issue that I need to sort out.

Hi Dean, do you notice a difference in tail behaviour in each flight mode, or just one in particular? Mine tends to behave better in IU2 - maybe the increased head speed/torque is more in line with the FBL's sweet spot in terms of default gain/control sensitivity, I don't know) I think the stock gain settings mean that an occasional porpoise or sudden collective change wobble (increased motor loading) happens due to the limitations of the FBL and DD tail motor, I think....I've seen the same on mine sometimes. Wind tends to create similar behaviour. I don't want to start messing with gain settings just yet, I'm too early in my learning curve and I think the DXe is limited in what can be done anyway - I guess if you have a decent Tx (I don't....yet) then you could try changing settings?
