  • who works with who?

Ok im havin a little trouble, I have a futaba R149DP 9 channel PCM 35 MHZ receiver and wel Im wondering what transmiters are compatibal with it, am thinking about upgrading anyway, or what i need to make my servos talk back to me!
i dont realy understand electronics all that great and wel i got some dual conversion 35 MHZ crystals for my sanwa RD8000 thinking if i jamed them in it would work but nope WRONG .

Also if anyone have any clue on which brands work with eachother; or should you just simply stick with the one and dont mix and match that would be great to know too!?
    Many thanks

With regards to Transmitters and Receivers your better off sticking with the same brand mate. Servos are diffrent and can be used with diffrent brand TX and RX's.

If you are using 35mhz PPM systems then you can mix manufacturers receivers and transmitters but all PCM systems are proprietary, you can only use RX and TX from the same manufaturer (slightly complicated in that JR have SPCM and ZPCM which do not mix!)

As you have a Futaba PCM receiver it will only work with a Futaba PCM transmitter.

        Like he says ^^^^^

PPM just works, regardless of make. But it is sensible to put the right crystal in the right component - i.e. if you're mixing a Futaba Tx with a JR Rx, then make sure the Futaba Tx has a Futaba Crystal and the JR Rx has a JR crystal.

PCM systems need to be matched like for like, as do the Futaba dual conversion PPM systems I think as well.

i think its something to do with the pulse lengths, futaba and jr for example would be like running a clock with gears that dont mesh. it just aint gonna happen.

if your upgrading why not go 2.4ghz imho spektrum is the better of the 3 systems available. at least you get model matching which will save you at least one rebuild.

Hey do people still use ppm on helis these days? lol
Referring to your particular Receiver you will have to use a Futaba TX with it.
