  • Took my Medevac for its first flight

Yup, finally have a heli i can get my teeth into. Im so glad ive been putting some time in on my sim, as it was far more sensitive then i imagined it would be.

It was a still evening so i took out for its maiden flight in the garden - Grrrreat fun - even if i did break a blade

Off to my LHS in Stokenchurch tomorrow am for replacements.

Q: are there any mods i should consider to strengthen/improve specific parts?

[btw - i am now the proud owner of a blade 400 which will also gets its maiden flight this weekend in my village hall - no flying around though - just up/down and trim for now]

    Happy days

    Good to hear.

I would leave it standard, well maybe worth fitting a heat sink to the motors, great fun as they are and cheap to repair.
Remember the eflite blades may well be cheaper

    have fun

    cheers dor

Well done mate.... read your original post, glad to hear your in the air!! no turning back now, your hooked trust me

IMHO leave the mods till you have found your feet. you will know what you need and want as you progress. What you may wan't this week/month you may need next... and visa versa, thats all part of the learning curve. I and many others on here change their minds on what the best Heli's and upgrades they wan't/need every five minutes, thats part of the fun... Enjoy.

P.S I'm thinking about buying a S40 R design as my new company wagon. Being a Volvo man... what do you think?

Cheers Mark - what can i say? An R no less!!

there a special breed of car for many reasons: some being that there a little different in any corporate car park - typically german and jap performance...

The R is somewhat understated yet packs the performance as standard but has opportunity for tweaking due to the amount of Volvo performance mods available - dont get me started =)

All id say is drive a few, as well as what else your thinking of and make an informed decision - obvious i guess, but youll prob get a handle on bang for buck as well as performance.

Get yr arse over to mine and take mine for a drive - you'll never look back lol!!

Got the blade fired up an hour ago, but had a considerable amount of wobble on pre lift. i backed off, did some checks and all seems ok. Its off to the LHS on monday for an MOT.

Ill put up a separate post for advise...

See you for a drive soon then
