  • Lama V-3, Blades,: New Honey Bee King 2

I've been looking at Xtreme blades and they look good.

The Esky blades fly nice but are very fragile. I think I read that Xtreme claim that their blades have more lift with your motor running slower. Isn't this swings and roundabouts though? They're thicker and must have more drag than the thinner (I beleive) E-sky blades. What do you guys think?

I like their durability and will get some and check them out.

No problems with my V-3, flies great but had to trim out a tail-twitch out by turning the Gain down about 1/8 (that's all!).

Inside info: E-Sky's coming out with a new Honey Bee King 2 and it's supposed to be very interesting. Not out yet, still in production so I hear.

    Cheers, Aaron.

Go Xtreme, great upgrade the best I've done on my Esky Robins 22 (lama v4).

They won't break when you hit something, that's the best part. Gives more power because they're stiffer I think.

Anyway, great upgrade, the best IMO.

      Xtreme

You make a lot of sense. I thought Esky blades were good because they are thinner and thus less air-resistance, but hovering at eye level you can see quite a bend in them. I have just run out of the lower (B) blades and I`m tired of them breaking so I`m going to go Xtreme. So far the landing gear is surviving but the tail on my V-3 is fragile and, IMHO a bit eye-tacky. The tail-rotor is silly, it does nothing so I removed it, but have had to glue the tail assy together after hard landings - too many. In fact I think I`ll be getting an Xtreme tail assy as well. Any word on good but cheap batteries. My Eskys are performing great but some extra batts would be good. What about chargers.

My bad Engliush, this comp keep putting these Scananavian É things instead of question marks. Also it cannot spell-check... ah well, I should have paid more attention at school. How I miss being whipped by the French Mistress!

      Have a great day, Hairy.

No problem, your English is good .

It's been a long time since I last flew my one (into 450's now) but the Robins 22 is quite different then the V3, it's more like the V4.

The landing gear is different as well. I dislike the look of the V3 as well . I think the Robins 22 body will fit the Esky lama v3 as long as you change to the Robins 22 skids.

I've only used esky lipos for it, plenty enough power and run times for me. The best lipos are Kong Powers but they don't do a good fit for the esky dual rotor helis.
