I don't see any carrying cases for helicopters or fixed wing-models about, but I guess they're out there. I used to go to the the Gym and it was awkward carrying my helicopter and flying gear, so I made a portable, 'hanger.'
I modified the styrofoam that it came shipped-in by covering the outside with some thin sheets of ply and adding outside-corner edges. I sanded the outside all the wood parts and then painted them with polyeurothane, apart from being weather-proof it's a nice finish too.
I used wide rubber-bands cut-open to make weather-proof seals by butt-cementing to the lid and the main box. I used brass hinges and a locking mechanism that gives a nice, 'squeeze,' when it's locked down this making a weather-proof seal.
VENTALATION: I made sure I made nylon covered (to keep dirt out) air-vent holes of 1/2 inch, on the underside.
I can keep my model, tools, batteries and log-book in there and it's really handy to go flying, just pick it up and off I go.
Cheers guys, Hairy.
