  • Twister 3D Storm - No Drive to Tail Rotor Blades

    All

Help!!! Fairly new to this game, crashed my Twister, replaced the main blades and fired it back up again. Result is that the tail rotor blades are not rotating, I can still operate the pitch but they do not turn.

Before i pull it apart anyone any suggestions what to check first?

    thanks!

check the drive to the tail .... Its broke... I think its a belt on that one.. it could be the tail tube has slipped in a little.

Thanks I will have a look later. It is a belt, is that something that is common to brake?

on this particular heli it most likley the boom has slid in and the belt is slack dont think we have had a snapped belt yet but you may prove us wrong!

Thanks, the boom had slid in, any tips on how to stop this happening? I tightened back up and it slipped again during flight resulting in a crash!

It slips on mine a lot until, as someone kindly suggested to me on here to put some masking tape round the tube that goes into the frame. Worked a treat and has not slipped since.

will give it a try, thanks. Do you put loctite on the holding screws?

Loctite won't really help at this point as your are screwing into plastic on the frame, best bet is tapebefore you put it in, which is what i have done on mine. After this you could also by a spare tail servo braacket and screw that behind the juncture to also help it stop slipping.

                      Or a Zip tie?

My tail boom kept sliding back into the frame. The "tail in" landings don't help.

I found a zip tie a nice fit twixt tail servo mount and the main frame.

                      Hope everything is now OK.

Thanks, i tried some insulation tape which seems to of stopped it so far! will try the zip tie if it slips again.
