  • A Canundrum----Puzzle

So 2 identical heli's, using the same batteries and run from the same radio with the same settings for both. Just hovering with no special moves and one burns a 6s in 4.20 the other in 6. 20.I lowered the head speed on the lower one to try and extend the time but only minor change.

I'm just curious to know why, both fly smooth between the times when I crumple them, no tight gears ect. anybody got any ideas please

When you say the same batteries, you mean the same pack(s) used on one, recharged then used on the other?

Both are Blade 500's and yes the same packs recharged. Caught me out as I went from the 6.20 one to the 4.20 one thinking they were the same , which they were a couple of months ago ,should have used my audible on heli warning thingy. Something is taking the power but now I know then maybe I'll live with it

My 2c: It could be something mechanical in the drive train, or it could be the motor (possibly damaged in a crash), or it could be one or more servos that are (subtly) damaged and therefore having to work too hard.

You might try measuring the motor, esc, and servos temperatures on both helis after flight.

More mechanical drag. Maybe one has the tail belt tighter, or the one-way bearing doesn't run so smooth.
